Staff at Joyceville Institution have seized several suspected contraband packages and other unauthorized items in the Assessment Unit. On April 23rd according to Correctional Service Canada, unauthorized items and contraband were seized from a suspected drone drop. The items included 201 grams of marijuana and 199.45 grams of tobacco. The estimated value of the contraband was said to be around $41,000. The Ontario Provinical Police Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad have been notified and the investigation is ongoing.
