Good news for people who enjoy getting out on the water as the weather warms up. Township boat ramps in Ivy Lea and Rockport, accessing the St. Lawrence River, will open today. Municipal ramps on inland lakes including Cranberry Lake in Seeley’s Bay and Lower Beverly Lake in Lyndhurst will open next Wednesday May 6th. Township Mayor Corinna Smith Gatcke said in a statement to continue practicing physical distancing while using these facilities, adhere to the provincial order of limiting gatherings to five people or fewer and limit travel for essential purposes only. A reminder that the RCMP will be present on the St. Lawrence River and the OPP will begin their full marine program today. Marinas remain closed in accordance with provincial orders.
