After a stolen vehicle was stopped by Leeds County OPP on February 16th on County Road 5 in Front of Yonge Township at around 10:30am, three individuals are facing many charges. At around 11am Grenville County OPP located a second vehicle at a private lot in Prescott, which had fled the scene where the stolen vehicle was stopped. Officers found stolen key fobs for other vehicles, a loaded handgun, magazine and ammunition, cell phones and cash. Two males from Quebec aged 19 and 23 along with a 27 year old Toronto female were all arrested.
Hugo MARCELIN, 19 years old from Carignan, Quebec was arrested and charged with:
• Possession property obtained by crime over $5000 – Criminal Code 354(1)(a)
• Obstruct peace officer – Criminal Code 129(a)
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on March 26, 2021 to answer to the charges.
Joey PRIMEAU, 23 years old from Saint Leonard, Quebec and Cassidy ALLEYNE, 27 years old from Toronto were arrested and charged with:
• Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – Criminal Code 86(1)
• Breach of firearms regulation- transport firearm or restricted weapon – Criminal Code 86(2)
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose – Criminal Code 88
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – Criminal Code 91(1)
• Unauthorized possession of a weapon – Criminal Code 91(2)
• Knowledge of a prohibited device or ammunition – Criminal Code 92(1)
• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition – Criminal Code 92(2)
• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm – Criminal Code 94
• Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – Criminal Code 95(a)
• Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court – Criminal Code 145(5)(a)
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – Criminal Code 354(1)(a)
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – Criminal Code 354(1)(a)
Furthermore Joey PRIMEAU was also charged with:
• Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – Criminal Code 117.01(1)
• Obstruct Peace Officer – Criminal Code 129(a)
• Public mischief – Criminal Code 140(1)(b)
• Fail to comply with probation order – Criminal Code 733.1(1)
• Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court – Criminal Code 145(5)(a), two additional counts
Grenville County OPP held both accused for bail.
