During this pandemic health care has been the main focus and local registered nurse have been keeping each other going through an incredibly tough time. Shawna Griffin has been a registered nurse for 36 years and says that even before the pandemic the number one priority has been to help people. She says the biggest challenge has been getting people to adhere to the protocols and adds that the more we keep following the rules, the quicker we can all get out of this. She says we as nurses know what we have to do and we stick together and keep each other upbeat, which is what you have to do. One of the many things Griffin misses the most is seeing people’s faces and seeing a smile on someone due to all the protection that is required while being on the job. Shawna says we all have each other and having that support system in place is something she values each and everyday.
