Eastern Ontario Power say the power is now back on in the Town of Gananoque after an outage occurred rendering 2500 homes and businesses without power. EOP say as of 1:15 pm Aug. 11, 583 customers outside the town of Gananoque are still without power. The estimated time of restoration is still unknown.
The cause of the outage was what they call a lock out, which is when a high voltage fuse, that stops high voltage through into residential neighbourhoods, locked itself open. Crews were then dispatched and repaired it.
