Town of Gananoque Council has passed a bylaw to allow alcohol consumption at the amphitheater portion of Joel Stone Park. At the recent Gananoque Council meeting, council agreed to allow for legal consumption of alcohol seven days a week from 11am until 11pm. Signage will be posted as to the boundaries that will be set. The approval is for anytime between the posted hours and not limited to just shows and other performances at the amphitheater. Council also did not request security or patrol of the area due to the new bylaw, however fines and penalties will be as per the Provincial Offences Act.
