The 2023 Operating and Capital Budgets have been approved by the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands Council. The Operating Budget was approved at just over $15 million dollars ($15,315,800) with a net levy of $11,276,000. The capital budget was approved in the amount of $7,046,520. The TLTI property tax rate is at 0.004% with property taxes estimated at around $1195. The education tax rate went unchanged at 0.001% which means the education tax bill will be $383. The County portion of the TLTI tax rate is unknown as the County budget has not been approved.
The 2023 budget includes an allocation of $100,000 to the Community Grants Program which is an important way to support local community initiatives, groups, and individuals. Also, Private Road Grants have increased from $25,000 to $50,000 to assist the Township’s many seasonal and permanent residents in having safe and accessible roads to their properties.
