As the eagerly anticipated deer rifle hunting season approaches, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is urging everyone to stay well-informed and exercise caution.
While the region already has active small game and geese hunting seasons, the dedicated rifle hunting season for deer, which includes the use of dogs, kicks off on Monday, the 6th of November, and runs until the 19th.
For those venturing into the woods during this time, the police advise taking essential safety measures.
They strongly recommend enhancing visibility by donning vibrant “Hunter Orange” clothing. Furthermore, if you have a four-legged companion with you, it’s advisable to attach a brightly colored item to their collar or affix a bell for increased visibility and safety. Your safety is paramount during this exciting hunting season.
