A group used Gananoque as their starting point last week as they marched from our town to Kingston as part of a global movement of prayerful pilgrimages in solidarity with Palestinians.
The group from Kingston made the 36 kilometer trek in rainy conditions as they called for an end to hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
Thirty-six kilometers is the same distance from Gaza City to Rafah, where Palestinians are fleeing to, to escape the violence during the Israel-Hamas war.
The walk was one of 145 in total taking place around the world.
