Premier Doug Ford announced on Monday that the Ontario Government plans to extend the existing gas and fuel tax rate cuts.
The Ontario government temporarily cut the gasoline tax by 5.7 cents per litre, and the fuel (diesel) tax by 5.3 cents per litre, from July 1, 2022 to June 30th of this year – but now Ford wants to extend that further.
Audio PlayerFord made the announcement while also calling on their Federal government to stop a proposed carbon tax increase slated for April 1st.
Ford said that proposed increase would see the current Federal carbon tax increase by 23 per cent.
