The LaSalle Causeway in Kingston continues to stay closed. Public Services and Procurement Canada issued a notice that a team of engineers and contractors have been assembled to repair the bridge.
Timelines to reopen the bridge for the upcoming Marine season on May 1st is not feasible according to the PSPC.
Solutions are being explored for safe pedestrian use while work is ongoing.
Officials say despite the tireless work to make repairs, the Causeway will remain closed to traffic for the time being.
Detours are in place and significant delays can be expected at the the third crossing.
PSPC and the City of Kingston will continue to provide updates when they come available.
