Gananoque Town Council Meetings have a NEW START TIME OF 5PM! All regular meetings of Council shall be held on the first (1st) and third (3rd) Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise determined by the Council. Call to Order and Closed Sessions of Council may vary depending on time needed for Closed Session of Council.
If you plan on heading to Kingston, it is strongly urged to not take Highway 2 as the LaSalle Causeway is still closed and there are significant delays at the new third crossing. Take the Highway 401 and save yourself a long day in the car! Our news department will keep providing updates on the Causeway situation as it develops.
Waste site Hours will be adjusted as the Victoria Day Long Weekend Approaches:
The waste sites will be open on Saturday, May 18 and closed Monday, May 20 for Victoria day, with regular hours resuming on Tuesday, May 21.

The Arthur Street Rehabilitation Project will be getting underway and Stone Street South to Charles Street South will be closed to motorists however local traffic will be allowed to pass through. Work begins May 6th and will run through October 25th.
Brush collection is underway in the Town of Gananoque. Be sure to have your brush leaves and yard waste out to the curb for collection. The final day is May 24th. There will also be collections on October 28th and November 15th.
The Grace United Church will hold a celebration of life for Charlie Donevan on May 25th at 11am.

A plant sale hosted by the Lansdowne Association for Revitalization takes place Saturday from 8am until 2pm at the Lansdowne Fairgrounds
If you are out in the Athens area there is also a plant sale to be held at the Glen Elbe Learning Center. Check out our community calendar for more details on the event.
A summer sidewalk sale will begin at 8:30am at Wings Live Bait and Tackle in Lyndhurst Saturday May 18th.
Next week is National Public Works Week. Why not take the kids and the family and support the ROLL Aid Food Bank on Tuesday May 21st from 1-6pm at 1233 Prince Street in Lansdowne for their Touch a Truck event.
Monthly book chats will be taking place at the Gananoque Public Library beginning at 11am every Wednesday
Looking to improve your knitting skills? The Gananoque Yarn Spinners will be on hand at the Gananoque Public Library from 1-3pm every Wednesday
Local Sports:
The Gananoque Islanders will be having a celebration of their 2023-2024 Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League Championship. The event will be held on June 1st. Hear more from Tom Dickson, Coach and GM in our web story.
After a week off the Can Am Speedway in Lafargeville New York will be back at it and will honor local athletes on Youth Sports Night. At 7pm Friday night, the green flag will fly on a full show for the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman, Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman, Panther Frameworx Crat Sprints and Sundance Leisure Thundercars
Brockville Ontario Speedway will once again try to get their 2024 season opener underway this coming Saturday night. This week is the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series for the DIRTCar 358 Modified and Sportsman divisions. The Limited Sportsman, Surprenant Truck Shop Crate Sprints will be on the card along with the Street Stock division. Gates open at 4pm with the green flag falling at a new start time of 6pm
