The Gananoque Trojans cheerleading team recently showcased their final routine of the 2024 season at the Canadian Scholastic Cheerleading Nationals in Ottawa.
The team finished a very respectable 4th in the event after a silver medal during last year’s competition. Coaches Robyn Ableson and Justin Parks, say despite the hurdles this year, it did not stop them, as the team placed 4th on home turf during the OFSAA Regional event back in April.
The team also saw success at the Canadian Cheer Winterfest and Big East Blast in Ottawa, where they claimed top honors in both events.
The team also wanted to acknowledge three of their Junior athletes. Olivia Duah as this year’s MVP, Grace Plunkett on the Rookie of the Year Award and Emily Cudmore as Most Improved.
The team thanks the parents, families and community partners for their support and to all who donated during various fundraisers throughout the year.
The team is already gearing up for future competitions with summer training sessions as they get ready for the 2024-2025 cheer season.
