REMINDER!
Gananoque Town Council Meetings have a NEW START TIME OF 5PM! All regular meetings of Council shall be held on the first (1st) and third (3rd) Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise determined by the Council. Call to Order and Closed Sessions of Council may vary depending on time needed for Closed Session of Council.
If you plan on heading to Kingston, it is strongly urged to not take Highway 2 as the LaSalle Causeway is still closed and there are significant delays at the new third crossing. Take the Highway 401 and save yourself a long day in the car! Good news for cyclists and pedestrians, it is now safe to use the bridge as construction continues.

The Arthur Street Rehabilitation Project will be getting underway and Stone Street South to Charles Street South will be closed to motorists however local traffic will be allowed to pass through. Work begins May 6th and will run through October 25th.
Brush collection is underway in the Town of Gananoque. Be sure to have your brush leaves and yard waste out to the curb for collection on October 28th and November 15th.
Hydrant flushing will be taking place throughout the Town of Gananoque. If you water is discolored, run the tap until it is clear.
Charles Street North will be closed due to the Arthur Street Reconstruction Project. Local traffic will only be permitted
Please be advised that a Committee of the Whole meeting has been scheduled for Monday, June 17, in Lansdowne Council Chambers. For updated information, please call the Clerk’s Department.
The Town of Gananoque has issued a post on their social media regarding a planned power outage that will impact all of Gananoque.
Eastern Ontario Power will be scheduling the outage on Sunday June 9th from 7am until 3pm to make equipment updates.

Monthly book chats will be taking place at the Gananoque Public Library beginning at 11am every Wednesday
Looking to improve your knitting skills? The Gananoque Yarn Spinners will be on hand at the Gananoque Public Library from 1-3pm every Wednesday
Local Sports:
The Gananoque Islanders will be having a celebration of their 2023-2024 Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League Championship. The event will be held on June 1st. Hear more from Tom Dickson, Coach and GM in our web story.
Congratulations to the Gananoque Trojans Cheerleading team for a successful 2023-2024 season. Check out the web story to find out how their year went. By the way the team is already planning a head start on the upcoming season. Great Job this year!
UCDSB athletes won more than 30 gold medals through out the two day competition and Gananoque Secondary school was part of that tally.
Brynn Bowman took a gold medal in the Girls 2000 Meter Steeplechase.
Overall Thousand Islands Secondary School bested 61 schools, earning 476.5 points to win the overall team title for both boys and girls.
