If you are headed into the Kingston area today and are near the Kingston Health Sciences Center, you are to be aware of a training exercise that will take place.
From 9am until noon at the Emergency Department, Kingston Police, Fire and Rescue and Frontenac Paramedics will conduct a joint training scenario.
This will involve a mock Code Orange to simulate a mass casualty incident resulting from a train derailment. Participants will simulate the transportation and treatment of casualties.
Volunteers will act as patients during the drill. K-H-S-C wants to reassure the public that this is solely an exercise aimed at testing and improving our local emergency response plans and that the emergency department at KGH will remain open to the public throughout the exercise.
They thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation.
