
Leeds County OPP RIDE program led to significant arrests and multiple charges near Highway 15 and County Road 5.
On August 14th, officers stopped a vehicle making a suspicious U-turn. The driver, 60 year old Matthew Baer, was found to be prohibited from driving and was arrested. His passenger, 44 year old Rhawnie Carruthers was also arrested.
A search of the vehicle revealed over 200 grams of suspected cannabis, various narcotics, contraband cigarettes, and three smartphones.
Both individuals face numerous charges, including drug trafficking and possession under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
Baer faces additional charges for operating an unsafe vehicle and driving without insurance.
Both suspects were remanded into custody following a bail hearing in Brockville.
