Burnbrae Farms’ Brockville facility is set to boost its operational efficiency and expand its product offerings, thanks to a $100,000 investment from the Agri-Tech Innovation Initiative, a joint effort by the Ontario and federal governments. The funding will help the farm purchase advanced cooking and packaging equipment, enabling the production of new scrambled egg products and other innovations.
Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, highlighted the positive impact this investment will have on the local economy, stating, “We are driving economic growth and helping Burnbrae meet future customer demand.”
Burnbrae’s Executive Vice President, Ian McFall, expressed the company’s commitment to supplying Canadians with high-quality egg products, emphasizing that this funding supports sustainable agribusiness growth.
The Agri-Tech Innovation Initiative, part of the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, aims to enhance the resiliency and productivity of 319 farms and agribusinesses across Ontario through an investment of up to $22.6 million, with projects expected to wrap up by 2027.
