Two people face charges following an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into drug trafficking in Athens, Ontario. The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit began investigating earlier this year, culminating in a search warrant executed on September 18th at a residence on Main Street and three vehicles. The operation involved the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and Biker Enforcement Unit.
Officers seized over 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 8 grams of suspected fentanyl, a quantity of suspected cocaine, unidentified pills, and over $1,000 in cash. Two suspects, Sean White, 44, and Kylie Carson, 39, both from Athens, were arrested. They face charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Carson faces an additional charge of possession of a Schedule I substance.
Carson was released and will appear in court on October 18, while White remains in custody.
