Each year, the small village of Lyndhurst transforms as its population of around 300 swells to nearly 8,000 for the Annual Lyndhurst Turkey Fair. This event, rooted in local tradition, originally began as a gathering for farmers to sell poultry and socialize. Today, it offers a full day of family-friendly activities, live music across three stages, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Attendees can savor delicious food, explore over 130 vendor booths, and enjoy attractions such as a vintage car show and a kid zone featuring fun activities. Families can meet characters like Cinderella and Brie the River Mermaid, paddle a Voyager canoe, and engage with personnel from the Canadian Armed Forces Naval Reserve.
The fair also showcases local history with exhibits on blacksmithing, woodturning, and chair canning. Attendees can bid on items at the Silent Auction and participate in a 50/50 draw, with proceeds supporting Sweets Corners Elementary School’s Kindergarten play structure fundraiser. With free entry and parking, the Lyndhurst Turkey Fair promises a day of community celebration and fun for all ages.
