The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is inviting public input on its 2025–2035 Housing and Homelessness Plan. This new ten-year plan aims to address the region’s ongoing housing and homelessness needs through a community-driven approach. To gather input, the United Counties is conducting an online survey until November 15th.
The Community and Social Services Division recently completed a housing need and demand review, analyzing data on homelessness, rental trends, affordability, and accessibility to guide the plan’s goals. Additional targeted consultation sessions will be held with individuals with lived experience of homelessness and local housing partners.
With rising rental costs since the COVID-19 pandemic, many in Leeds and Grenville face significant challenges in securing affordable housing. The plan seeks to address these issues by proposing actions to increase affordable housing options, support housing stability, and prevent homelessness. To participate in the survey or register for the session, residents can visit the Leeds and Grenville website.
Register in advance for the public information session by visiting the Leeds and Grenville website, or by contacting the Community Housing Department of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, by emailing Tammy.Herbison@uclg.on.ca or by phone at (613) 342-3840 ext. 2122. Paper copies of the survey can also be provided upon request by contacting the Community Housing Department.
