Amber Scott’s involvement with the 1000 Islands Gananoque District Chamber of Commerce was inspired by her late mother, Myrla Grant, a former Vice President and Treasurer at the Chamber. Wanting to honor her mother’s legacy, Scott became involved with the Chamber and now serves as its President.
So far, she says it has been a “fun ride,” particularly enjoying the large events the Chamber organizes each year. Scott takes pride in helping the community recognize local businesses and the incredible people behind them.
The Chamber’s networking events have been valuable in helping Scott and her team learn what works for local businesses and what doesn’t. “It’s all about creating connections and strengthening the community,” she shared.
Scott also appreciates the strong camaraderie among the board members and committee, which makes her role as President rewarding. She encourages everyone in the community to join in the Chamber’s events and social gatherings, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in creating a thriving local business environment.
