St. Lawrence College’s original student production, Look At Me, will be performed at the Thousand Islands Playhouse’s Firehall Theatre in Gananoque on March 22 and 23. Directed by Madison King, the show features original music and lyrics by Mathieu Preston, Piper Clapp, Lola Nogueras, and Camila Assi.
The play reimagines the classic Greek myth of Medusa, once a devoted priestess to Athena and a loving sister, who is transformed into a monster after a brutal betrayal. As Medusa battles pain, anger, and isolation, the production explores themes of empowerment, love, sisterhood, and the courage to seek help.
The performance offers a fresh perspective on the misunderstood character of Medusa, providing a new lens on her transformation from victim to powerful figure. Look At Me is recommended for ages 12 and up.
Third-year Music Theatre student Mikayla Morrison reflected on the experience, saying, “We are truly proud of what we’ve created.”
