Leeds and Grenville getting set for 175th anniversary celebrations
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is turning 175 in 2025, and the celebration is going all year long.
A special committee made up of staff and the Warden is planning events that highlight the Counties’ history, community partnerships and staff appreciation through three pillars, as explained by the interim CAO, Alison Tutak.
The approved $35,700 budget will help fund branded events like a chili cook-off, tree planting, and Pink Shirt Day among others.
There will also be social media campaigns, a special edition newsletter, and an interactive map featuring historic facts and photos.
The Counties say they are keeping things accessible and climate-friendly.
The theme “Celebrating 175 Years” will be used throughout the year in communications and media, and the counties are looking to engage as many residents as possible.
