A traffic complaint about aggressive driving led to the arrest of a 42-year-old Mallorytown man on April 17, 2025. Frontenac OPP received multiple reports of a vehicle speeding westbound on Highway 401 near Kingston. An officer located the vehicle near Joyceville Road, confirming it was traveling at 178 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The driver was arrested for stunt driving and excessive speed.
Upon arrest, the officer detected alcohol on the driver’s breath, leading to a roadside alcohol screening test, which resulted in a “FAIL.” The driver was taken to the Kingston Police station for further breath testing.
Jeffrey Gibson was charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and stunt driving. He was released and will appear in court on May 13, 2025. His license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
