Gananoque Police arrested a 48-year-old Elgin resident on April 4th following a traffic stop for erratic driving. Officers observed the vehicle behaving unusually while on patrol and conducted a stop. The driver was found to be under suspension and currently facing charges related to impaired driving. A roadside alcotest was administered, resulting in a fail.
The individual was arrested and taken to the police station for further testing, which confirmed impairment. As a result, the driver was charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol/Drugs, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over the Legal Limit, and issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Driving While Under Suspension.
