A 33-year-old Frankville man is facing numerous charges following a police incident that began on April 16, 2025. Gananoque Police officers spotted the man, who was known to be prohibited from driving, operating a vehicle. When officers approached him at a local gas station, he attempted to flee. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect resisted arrest and intentionally rammed a police cruiser with his vehicle before fleeing the scene. In the interest of public safety, officers did not pursue.
After a joint investigation with a neighbouring police service, the suspect was located on May 22 at a local establishment and taken into custody without further incident.
He faces several charges, including assault with a weapon, resisting arrest, dangerous operation, flight from police, and five counts of operating while prohibited. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. Police thanked their partner agency for the assistance.
