The Town of Gananoque Council has passed a by-law at their May 20th meeting to amend the General Fees and Rates By-law specifically Schedule ‘I’ related to Disposal Site Fees for waste items. The amendment removes Item #2, which covered fees for brush, leaf, and yard waste disposal at the Public Works Yard.
Additionally, the Public Works Department recommends adjustments to bag tag fees, pending Council’s decision on Waste Management Fees presented in February 2025. The fees for wood and lumber pick-up have been eliminated entirely, as this type of waste is no longer accepted at the site. Residential Dump Day fees have now been incorporated into the Disposal Site Fees schedule.
A final version of the amended by-law will be brought back to Council for approval on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Residents are encouraged to review the changes as part of the town’s ongoing waste management updates.
