
The South East Health Unit is calling attention to the hidden tactics of the tobacco industry for World No Tobacco Day (May 31).
Dr. Linna Li, Deputy Medical Officer of Health, says public health works to prevent smoking and vaping, helps people quit, and enforces the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. She says they want to inform the younger generation.

She says that’s an important conversation to have.

Originally, vapes were meant to help smokers quit, but Dr. Li says the industry quickly adapted the products.
