Prescott and Ogdensburg Mayors hold talks to enhance local cross-border cooperation

Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar is meeting with Ogdensburg Mayor Michael Tooley to talk local cross-border relations.

Mayor Shankar says its about bringing a national conversation down to a local level.

Shankar says they’ll try to deliver a united message to residents in the area, that we’re in this together.

Since the US President Donald Trump started the trade war with our country, residents on both sides of the border have decreased their cross-border shopping.

The summer tourism season could suffer from strained relations between our two countries too, as many opt to stay on their side of the border.
