Epilepsy South Eastern Ontario (ESEO) will honour its founder, Katherine Manley, with a Legacy Award at its Annual General Meeting on June 10, 2025, at the INVISTA Centre.
Manley started Epilepsy Kingston in 1987 after her daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy. At the time, few local resources existed. Motivated by her family’s experience, she launched a support network from her basement so no family would feel alone.
Her efforts grew into a regional organization now known as ESEO. It serves over 5,500 people across the region.
Executive Director Christina Lord says the award recognizes Manley’s compassion and dedication, which built a lasting legacy for epilepsy awareness and support.
The AGM, including the award ceremony, is open to the public and media. ESEO continues to empower individuals through education, support, and advocacy across the region.
