The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) will be conducting routine sewer maintenance in Lansdowne from June 16 to 20, 2025. The work involves high-pressure cleaning of sanitary sewers located beneath the roadway. Residents are advised that this process may cause back pressure in pipes, which could result in splashing from toilets.
To minimize any inconvenience, locals are encouraged to keep toilet seats closed, avoid using toilets while maintenance vehicles are nearby, and run water in all taps for at least 30 seconds after work is completed in their area. Normal use of household plumbing can resume once maintenance crews have moved on.
This proactive work is part of OCWA’s regular system upkeep to ensure sewer infrastructure remains in good condition. Residents with questions can call 1-800-342-6442 and ask for the Operator On Call for OCWA–Seaway Valley. The Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation.
