A routine patrol in Athens led to a major arrest earlier this year, with a North Dundas man now facing more than a dozen charges.
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, just after 4:00 p.m., a member of the Leeds County OPP spotted a vehicle linked to multiple thefts in the area. The officer stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver without incident.
Jordan Cooper, 31, of North Dundas, faces a lengthy list of charges under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. Charges include impaired driving, operating while prohibited, theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, and multiple driving-related offences such as no licence, no insurance, and obstructed plates.
Cooper remains in custody. A bail hearing is set for June 11, 2025, at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice as the investigation continues.
