
A routine patrol in Athens led to the arrest of a wanted man facing over a dozen charges linked to thefts across Leeds County.
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, shortly after 4 p.m., an OPP officer from the Leeds County detachment spotted a vehicle linked to multiple thefts. The driver was arrested without incident.

Jordan Cooper, 31, of North Dundas, is charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. Charges include impaired driving, possession of stolen property, and several vehicle-related offences like driving under suspension, using unauthorized plates, and not having insurance.
Cooper remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on June 11, 2025, at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice.
Police credit the officer’s alertness for the arrest and say the investigation is ongoing.
