A 40-year-old Brockville man wanted on multiple offences and failing to comply with bail conditions was arrested following a string of incidents involving police.
Officers made several attempts to locate the suspect, who repeatedly fled from police. On June 24, he evaded officers in a vehicle, leading to new charges of flight from police.
On June 26, police tried to apprehend him again near Brockville’s outskirts. The suspect fled, rammed police vehicles, stole another car from a family member, and fled back into town.
Around 9:00 p.m., police found the stolen vehicle abandoned in a Walmart parking lot on Parkedale Avenue. When the suspect approached on foot, he tried to run into the store but was intercepted by officers. He threw a can of spray paint at an officer, causing injury.
He was arrested and faces charges including theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, flight from police, assaulting a peace officer, and multiple bail violations. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
