Summer’s Heating Up, But Storms Keep Weather Wild

Environment Canada says we can expect a warmer than normal summer.

But Senior Climatologist David Phillips says just how much rain and thunderstorm activity we’ll see is still up in the air, so to speak.

Phillips adds that’s the nature of Thunderstorm activity over the summer which brings most of our precipitation during the season.

He says we got off to a good start, which is a bonus for farmers across the province.

The weather expert says the Spring had largely above normal precipitation setting the stage for a great growing season.

Now, with warmer than normal temperatures expected through the summer the moisture in the ground will keep crops growing.
