Gananoque Town Council will meet tonight at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public both in-person and via teleconference or video link.
A key item on the agenda is a proposed Class III development permit application for 580 Queen Street, where Patterson Construction Inc. is seeking approval to construct a two-storey addition with a garage. Council will also revisit discussions on Town-owned properties and the Water Street Swing Bridge and roadway improvements.
Staff reports will cover a range of topics, including the introduction of a new Town cooling station and a discussion on service levels from the Finance Working Group. Other reports include the long-term debt schedule, fire department quarterly updates, and a proposal to sell a surplus loader to Elizabethtown-Kitley. A lease extension for the Town’s water tower is also under review.
Council will receive correspondence from various agencies, including Cataraqui Conservation and the Ministry of Emergency Preparedness, and consider a motion on a Joint Services Committee Housing and Homelessness Plan.
The meeting will conclude with a closed session discussing four items related to municipal negotiations.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for August 12
