The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands has officially appointed Steve Miller as the new Deputy Chief Building Official. With this role, Miller is granted the full authority, powers, and responsibilities of the Chief Building Official under the Ontario Building Code Act.
His duties include enforcing the Ontario Building Code, applicable regulations, by-laws, and any related amendments within the Township. This appointment reflects the Township’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards in building safety and compliance.
As part of this change, By-law 2025-035 has been enacted, repealing and replacing By-law 22-026. The update ensures clarity and alignment with current legislative requirements.
Miller’s appointment marks a key step in strengthening local building oversight.
