The Gananoque Police Service, along with several other law enforcement agencies, will host the annual Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Day on Sunday, August 10th, 2025. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Joel Stone Park and offers a fun, educational experience for children interested in fishing.
Sponsored by Canadian Tire Gananoque, Baldrees No Frills, the Gananoque Police Association, the Police Association of Ontario, Gananoque Fire Service, and other local organizations, the fishing derby encourages community engagement and outdoor activity. Registration will take place under the stage at the Joel Stone Park pavilion.
Attending agencies include the RCMP, OPP, Coast Guard, Ministry of Natural Resources, Brockville Police, Canada Border Services, Oceans and Fisheries, and Parks Canada, many of whom will display their boats and equipment.
Learn to Fish will bring a mobile unit to teach fishing fundamentals. The event also features face painting, other family activities, and lunch provided to all participants.
