Gananoque Police arrested a 41-year-old man from Gananoque on July 13th, after multiple break-ins at apartment units, where the suspect used a screwdriver to gain entry. He was charged with failure to comply with undertaking (x2), mischief under $5,000 (x2), and break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence. The man was held for a bail hearing but was released on a court-issued release order.
However, on July 15, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence where the homeowner was threatened with a screwdriver. The suspect fled the scene using a family member’s vehicle without permission. Police located and arrested the man later that day, charging him with mischief under $5,000, taking a motor vehicle without consent, uttering threats, and multiple failures to comply with court orders. He remains in custody awaiting his next court date.
