The third edition of the Canadian Classic at the Brockville Ontario Speedway saw a familiar face park it in victory lane on Wednesday night.
Hopewell New York’s Alex Payne won the event last year and led all 75 laps, held off two-time and defending Super DIRTcar Series champion Mat Williamson this year to score his second career series win.
10 time series champion Matt Sheppard finished in third. The night also feature a 30 lap North East Late Model Alliance Series race. Late Model veteran showed came to Brockville with one thing in mind, win the race.
Sandercock did just that by leading all 30 laps for the win. the father/son duo of Brandt and Craig Graham completed the podium.
Brockville returns to action this Saturday night with the second appearance of the Empire Super Sprints plus DIRTcar Sportsman, Novice Sportsman and Mini Stocks. Racing begins at 7pm.
