Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Gananoque and the surrounding area, as a multi-day heat event continues.
Daytime highs are expected to reach 32 to 35 degrees Celsius, with humidex values between 37 and 42.
Overnight lows will remain warm, between 20 and 23 degrees. A cooler air mass is expected tonight, though some areas could see hot and humid conditions continue into Wednesday.
Hot and humid weather can deteriorate air quality and pose health risks, especially for vulnerable populations.
Residents are urged to drink plenty of water, limit sun exposure, wear light clothing, and check on at-risk individuals.
Watch for symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke and seek immediate medical attention if necessary.
Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.
