The Town of Gananoque is reminding residents to mark their calendars for Residential Dump Day, happening Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The event will take place at the Public Works Yard, located at 665 Charles Street, with access only through James A. Brennan Road.
Dump Days provide an opportunity for residents to dispose of large household items not collected at the curb. Proof of residency is required, and business or contractor materials will not be accepted. The event is cash-only, with fees ranging from $20 for smaller loads to $100 for a truck with trailer. Payment is required prior to entry, and residents are responsible for transporting and unloading their items into the appropriate bins with staff assistance.
Accepted items include bulky furniture, mattresses, bed frames, yard waste, and other oversized household goods. Scrap metal, appliances, electronics, clean styrofoam, and brush are accepted free of charge. Items such as household garbage, construction debris, shingles, tires, hazardous waste, and contractor material will not be accepted.
Town officials encourage residents to take advantage of this community clean-up initiative and properly dispose of unwanted items. More information is available at pwinfo@gananoque.ca
