If you watched the recent episode of The Amazing Race Canada, a familiar person was part of the show. Gananoque Town Crier Brian Mabee was part of the show. He said he played a big role for the racers.
He gives us an idea of what it was like behind the scenes.
Mabee told us that this was something he was very proud to be a part of, but also was proud to see Gananoque and the surrounding area, as part of this show.
Mabee, as Town Crier, gave clues to the racers during his part of the show. He says it’s not just the racers who are the athletes.
Plenty of other spots in the region were highlighted on the show. The Thousand Islands Playhouse had a challenge that involved salad dressing. Brett Christopher , Managing Artistic Director, talked about how his location got involved, with Ben and Reid in the Morning on 98.3 FLY FM.
Mabee added that it’s the first time Gananoque has been used for a show such as this. The racers also made stops in Lyndhurst and nearby Ivy Lea. Mabee credits Jennifer Baril from the Gananoque Visitors Center, for her key role in helping make this a possibility.
