A 32-year-old Brockville man was arrested after police responded to a report of intimate partner violence on August 31 around 10:00 p.m.
Officers received information about a dispute between a woman and her boyfriend. During the argument, the man allegedly threw the woman’s cell phone into her laptop screen, breaking it. Police say the damage was deliberate.
An investigation revealed the man was already under a peace bond, with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, related to a previous incident involving the same woman. Police also learned that he had allegedly threatened to kill her during the argument.
The man was located shortly after and placed under arrest. He is now facing charges of uttering threats, mischief, and breach of recognizance.
He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing. No injuries were reported in the incident.
