Gananoque Police are alerting residents to a scam targeting the community involving fraudulent letters claiming to be from Enbridge Gas. The letters state that gas meter and pipeline inspections will be conducted and provide a contact number.
Police warn that calling the number may lead to text messages requesting personal information, which could then be used for fraudulent purposes.
Residents are urged to always verify any information directly with Enbridge Gas through their official website or customer service line. Suspicious letters, emails, or messages should not be trusted, and phone numbers included in such communications should not be used.
