The Town of Gananoque, in partnership with Portage Power, has announced a planned service disruption beginning September 11, 2025, and expected to continue until October 3, 2025. The project, managed by the Ross & Anglin Group, involves critical structural repairs to the umbrella adjacent to 10 King Street, next to Susan Push.
Work will include draining the sluiceway, removing the umbrella structure, and storing it while concrete and steel beam repairs are carried out underneath. Once the structural work is complete, the umbrella will be reinstalled.
In addition, Portage Power will install a hydraulic rake to assist with future sluiceway cleaning, improving long-term maintenance. Residents and visitors are asked to be mindful of the disruption and any access restrictions during the four-week project.
The Town and Portage Power thank the public for their patience while these essential repairs are completed.
