The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands will lower flags at the Municipal Office in Lansdowne this weekend in honour of the late Velma Kelsey, former Ward 2 Councillor.
Kelsey is being remembered for her service and dedication to the community during her time on council.
Township officials say the gesture is a sign of respect and mourning, extending condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Flags will remain at half-mast throughout the weekend as residents reflect on her contributions to the township and the lasting impact she made in the community.
