Gananoque Police conducted a traffic stop on August 29th that led to the arrest of two individuals wanted by the Brockville Police Service. Officers identified one of the occupants as being wanted on two counts of Theft Under $5,000 and also bound by conditions not to associate with the second occupant in the vehicle.
The second individual attempted to mislead officers by providing a false name and date of birth. Once properly identified, police discovered the person was a suspended driver and also wanted for the same charges in Brockville.
Both 40-year-old suspects, from Brockville, were taken into custody. One was charged with obstructing a peace officer and driving while under suspension, and released on an undertaking. The other was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and held for a show cause bail hearing in connection with both Gananoque and Brockville charges.
