The Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands will address a significant change at its upcoming Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Lansdowne Council Chambers. The main item on the agenda will be the formal declaration that the Ward 3 council seat is vacant, following the resignation of Councillor Brock Gorrell, effective September 30, 2025.
The meeting will also include public hearings on three zoning by-law amendment applications, covering properties at 860 Olajos Lane, 108 Russell Road, and 439 Thousand Islands Parkway, as well as a report on a wastewater environmental assessment for the Lansdowne Pumping Station and Lagoons.
Residents are encouraged to attend in person or register for the webinar to participate. Council will receive a further report on October 14 outlining options for filling the Ward 3 vacancy, including whether to hold a by-election or appoint a replacement.
