The regular maintenance-day shutdown for the Howe Island County Ferry has been rescheduled.
Originally set for Tuesday, October 14, the shutdown will now occur on Wednesday, October 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The change was made to accommodate the availability of inspectors who will be conducting required vessel-inclining testing during that time.
This testing is an important part of the ferry’s ongoing safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring the vessel meets stability and operational standards.
During the shutdown period, ferry service will be unavailable, and travellers are advised to plan accordingly.
Normal ferry operations are expected to resume immediately following the completion of the scheduled maintenance and testing.
